Why name the art studio "myrrh"? people ask.
Ever since i was introduced to clay, it became a passion. I had to continue exploring and learning about its infinite possibilities; then the idea of having a little workshop, then ... give the workshop a name.
It had to be a meaningful name so it took some reflection ...
... when your instructor wants to hire you to make his pieces even when you just started learning; when your professor comments on your work "you have a way with clay"; where does this come from? - this passion for creating; the peace I feel when working with clay and how time seems to stop; where does this come from? - the closeness I feel with God when I am working with clay...where does all this come from?
Ah, of course, God gives everyone different abilities, talents, all kinds of skills. He is all about giving us gifts and things we enjoy. I happen to love the one He gave me.
Great, but I still need a name... It should not include my name in it because it is not about me. My next thought was, since God gave me this skill, my way of humbly thank Him would be to give it back to Him. But what can I possibly give to the King of kings?; what were the gifts given to the King? "Incense, Gold, Myrrh"
Of course... it has to be Myrrh - a gift to my King!
